[November 12 AFP] Test employment of the navigation system aiming at the prevention from traffic congestion of a highway is scheduled for 2014 in the Netherlands.
It is said that it is a trial which directs a lane change to a driver and prevents traffic congestion.
? test employment is the section of 75 km of highways of the Netherlands which connect Belgium to Germany, and if early, it is due to be performed also in April.
This highway has much use of a heavy-duty truck.
Mr. Paul Hwang コニングスブルゲン (Paul van Koningsbruggen) of IT company techno roux ション (Technolution) of the Netherlands which has participated in ? research indicates “The sequence of a track may cause traffic congestion.”
“It is the structure of a chain reaction.
A subsequent car will also be slowed down if a car slows down behind a track.
Under the present circumstances, a next car will step on a brake more strongly.
This further continues and the vehicles same final almost as a halt condition come out.”
In order to make it ? researchers not produce such a chain reaction, if traffic congestion is avoidable by offering the timing which should change lanes to a driver, and a suitable speed was considered.
